Canadian Franchise Association
GTA tutoring center awarded top prizes for Excellence in Franchising, as well as Diversity and Inclusion at the 2019 CFA National Convention
TORONTO – April 9, 2019 – Inspiration Learning Center (ILC), one of the largest and fastest-growing tutoring centers in the Greater Toronto Area, along with its Director and Founder, Angel Kuang, has been recognized as the very best in Canadian franchising at the 2019 Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) National Convention in Niagara Falls, Ontario. For the second year in a row, ILC has been named a CFA Franchisees’ Choice Designee, and this year celebrated additional accolades, winning the grand prize (gold) for the CFA Award of Excellence in Franchising in the Traditional Franchise (6-15 Franchises) Category, as well as the CFA Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award.
Considered the pinnacle of franchise achievement in Canada, the CFA Awards of Excellence in the Franchising, Franchisees’ Choice Designation and Recognition Awards categories celebrate excellence in franchising and the mutually-rewarding relationship between a franchise system and its franchisees.
Perhaps the award most reflective of ILC’s commitment to helping others is the Diversity and Champion Award. This award honors CFA member companies and franchisors for their outstanding philanthropic endeavors and contributions to the Canadian franchise community. Kuang is recognized for leading ILC with extraordinary leadership and for her contributions towards improving and promoting diversity and inclusion within the ILC workplace and across the franchise community in Canada.
A first-generation immigrant, Kuang is a fully-qualified educator who has fused the best of Eastern and Western teaching methods from both her Canadian and Chinese experiences into ILC’s approach to education. She not only uses her expertise to help hundreds of students from diverse communities reach their full potential, but also helps entrepreneurs of all backgrounds achieve their dreams of success through franchising—10 of the 14 ILC franchisees in Canada are female-led, and 100 per cent are first-generation immigrants.

With Kuang’s formula for success, ILC now has 14 centers nationally, with the most recent location opening in Newmarket. Kuang continues to lead the company’s Canadian expansion with 10 new learning centers slated to open in 2019. ILC has set sights on expansion in Ontario including Stouffville, Vaughan, Hamilton, Burlington, Barrie, Ajax, downtown Toronto and other GTA communities, as well as Vancouver and continue to prioritize diversity when it comes to franchisees.
